The choice to use a REALTOR® or not is up to the individual. If you choose not to use one, our best advice would be to do your homework. Know what you are getting yourself into. Determine if the time it takes and/or the risks involved are worth the effort. For many, with busy schedules, it can be overwhelming and very time consuming. Selling and buying property is always stressful but if you are selling and buying without a REALTOR® it can add to the stress. For some, using a REALTOR® can simplify the selling and buying experience by providing good advice and peace of mind. For most of us, buying a home is the biggest financial investment we’ll make. Knowing the advantages of using a REALTOR® is important in deciding whether or not to use one.

1. All REALTORS® are members of RECO (Real Estate Council of Ontario). RECO is responsible for administrating the Real Estate and Business Broker’s Act 2002 on behalf of the provincial government and protecting the public interest through a fair, safe and informed marketplace.
2. REALTORS®must adhere to a strict Code of Ethics.This means you are guaranteed professional conduct.
3. All registered REALTORS® must participate in RECO’s insurance program that includes errors and omissions insurance. This makes us accountable!
4. All REALTORS® must keep up-to-date on continuing education including RECO’s rules and regulations.
